What Most Gut Health Advice Gets Wrong 🎧

Hi Reader

Can I still say Happy New Year even though it’s already mid-January? I’m going to say yes.

I chose to start the year by going on a podcast because I see so many people with IBS feeling confused, frustrated, and stuck after following gut health advice that promises relief but often does the opposite.

My goal in this conversation was to help dispel some common gut health myths and offer a more supportive, realistic approach to feeling better in your body.

Tune in here 👉 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IWSxDnTvRVw

While I know not everyone has 30 min to sit and (re)watch, here are some real questions we tackled on the show that many of you have probably wondered about:

✨ Why the common gut tips often fall short
From quick fixes to trendy diets, so much advice focuses on short-term symptom relief rather than the deeper patterns driving your IBS. We unpacked how symptom suppression alone doesn’t equal long-term relief (you might notice that just cutting foods or chasing the “perfect diet” keeps people stuck).

✨ What actually makes your digestion behave the way it does
We talk about how stress, microbiome balance, food triggers, and nervous system communication all play a part and why no two people’s IBS looks exactly the same. (Yes, your IBS journey is unique, and that matters in how you approach it.)

✨ What you can do instead
Rather than endless restriction or guessing games, the focus shifts toward evidence-based strategies that support realistic, sustainable gut improvement. This includes forms of eating and lifestyle habits grounded in movement, diversity of foods, and understanding your body’s signals over time.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by conflicting gut health advice or done everything under the sun only to feel stuck, this episode was really aimed at YOU. I hope it gives you clarity and encouragement as you navigate your health.

And because gut healing doesn’t happen alone…

✨ If you’re ready for personalized support in 2026, I’d love to help you get the nutrition guidance you deserve.

Here’s to a calmer, more confident stomach (and year) ahead!

April Recap + What I Wish You Knew About IBS ↓ Hi Reader, This month felt especially meaningful. With IBS Awareness Month coming to a close, I’ve been reflecting on the conversations, connections, and moments that reminded me why this work matters so deeply.
