Eating Disorder Awareness Week: Nourishment is Self-Care

This week is Eating Disorder Awareness Week, a time to bring more understanding, compassion, and support to our relationship with food and our bodies. Nourishment is more than nutrients; it’s also about flexibility, enjoyment, and feeling safe with food. Small, consistent acts of care can help rebuild trust in your body.

💡 Gentle Tip:
Instead of focusing on “good” or “bad” foods, aim for balance. Try adding something to your meals rather than taking something away, like pairing toast with peanut butter, yogurt with granola, or fruit with a handful of nuts. Adding nourishment supports both physical and emotional well-being.

🍌 Recipe Spotlight: Comforting Banana Oat Bowl
Simple, satisfying, and easy to digest.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 cup milk or fortified plant milk
1/2 banana, mashed
1 tbsp peanut or almond butter
Pinch of cinnamon
1–2 tsp cacao nibs
Optional: chia seeds or ground flax

Instructions:
Cook oats with milk according to package directions.
Stir in mashed banana, nut butter, and cinnamon while warm.
Pour into a bowl and top with cacao nibs and optional seeds.
Enjoy a warm, cozy, balanced meal or snack.
