๐Ÿฆƒ Your November Gut Health News Roundup

Hi Reader,

Wow, October flew by and was a true whirlwind. I had the opportunity to present at the Dietitian Super Bowl AKA FNCE and it was so inspiring and exhausting.

If you're not sure what FNCE is, it's the annual conference put on for nutrition professionals by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics called the Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo (FNCE).

I presented with my fellow co-authors Dr. Jordan Shapiro and Emily Arkin MS, RDN, LD, CSDH on Integrating Trauma-Informed Tools into GI Nutrition Care.

In addition to presenting at FNCE, I have been participating in more local efforts to increase community nutrition care. I volunteered as the dietitian for the Austin Vietnamese American Medical Professional Society (AVAMPS) 26th Annual Vietnamese Community Health fair.

I was able to guide the community members on making culturally relevant food and nutrition choices that better support their metabolic and digestive health.

I shared more about how food sensitivity testing is a total scam. I keep hearing from clients that they can't eat specific foods because of a blood or saliva test they took that told them which foods they were sensitive to. If you'd like to learn more about the validity of food sensitivity testing, check out the post below.

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, and if you want to feel confident nourishing your body over the holidays, feel free to reach out. I'm here to help!

P.S. If you have any burning nutrition or gut health questions, reply to this email and let me know. I'd love to answer them in the next newsletter.

Warmly,

Hi Reader, I already have three Thanksgiving side dishes bookmarked, and it's not even October! It's got me thinking about how the holiday stretch sneaks up the same time every year, and how much easier it is to get through when you've got a plan instead of scrambling in November. So today I want to talk about building a plan that actually gets you through the season, not just gritting your teeth until January! The 3-Part Plan for Heading Into the Holidays Without Starting Over Most people...

Have you ever looked at a meal and wondered... โ†“ "Will this make me sick?" Maybe you've started avoiding restaurants. Maybe your list of "safe foods" keeps getting smaller. Maybe you're hungry, but eating feels stressful because you don't know how your body will respond. If that sounds familiar, you're not alone. For many people living with gastroparesis and other digestive conditions, food starts to feel less like nourishment and more like something to fear. While making nutrition changes...

Blue yogurt container with soy milk based Greek yogurt called Tezza

My New Favorite Dairy-Free Yogurt Find โ†“ Hi Reader, As a GI dietitian, one of the questions I get asked all the time is: "Is there a dairy-free yogurt that actually tastes good?" And honestly? It's a fair question. A lot of dairy-free yogurts fall short when it comes to texture, fiber, protein, or artificial sweeteners. They can be watery, overly sweet, or just not very satisfying. So when I find something that genuinely surprises me, I have to share it. Lately, I've been loving Tezza Foods'...
